About the lab

Established in 2006, The Malhi Molecular Anthropology Laboratory at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign uses molecular tools to address questions of interest in the life sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Our group works on a diverse array of projects and uses community-based methods. In our projects, we use innovative genomic tools to generate results that we integrate with different forms of knowledge to provide novel interpretations that resonate with our community partners and in our academic field.

Lab members also devote time to making STEM spaces more inclusive and wecloming to build capacity in science.
